Carla Nappi has been newly appointed as a Canada Research Chair in Early Modern Studies
Professor Nappi examines how translation shaped knowledge and use of the natural world and human bodies in early modern China, with an emphasis on better understanding culture and society amid global exchange with the Asia-Pacific.
The Canada Research Chairs program was established by the Government of Canada to enable Canadian Universities and their affiliated hospitals and research institutes to achieve the highest levels of research excellence, and to become world-class research centres.
The program aims to attract and retain excellent researchers in Canadian universities, to strengthen the training of highly qualified personnel through research, to improve the capability of universities for generating and applying new knowledge, and to optimize the use of research resources through institutional strategic planning and collaborations.
Congratulations Professor Nappi!
