in both regions there has been a decline in the relative importance of China-derived political organizations (the Guomindang, Chee Kung Tang, etc.). it seems to me that, given the proportions of its ethnic composition, Hawai'i is not likely to be a model for the future development of these other areas in the Pacific region.
